What is Dental Bonding?
During a dental bonding procedure, your dentist literally bonds tooth-coloured composite resin to your tooth to match your surrounding existing natural teeth.
Most often used to repair chipped or discoloured teeth, this non-invasive cosmetic treatment is also often used to make teeth appear longer, close gaps between them, or to change their colour or shape, making them appear more symmetrical.
Dental Bonding in Calgary: The Procedure
Typically, dental bonding requires just one visit to your dentist's office, and it can usually be completed within 30 to 60 minutes per tooth.
To prepare your teeth for bonding, your dentist will apply an etching solution to your tooth surface, followed by the composite resin which matches the colour of your teeth.
Finally, a high-intensity curing light is used to mold the composite resin into shape and harden it in place.
