Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
At Dental One Bankers Hall, we leverage technology to help plan effective and efficient treatments, and to make sure your dental appointments run smoothly. Because we can display digital x-rays and scans on monitors in our treatment rooms, we can show you any developing issues with your oral health and walk you through your treatment plan.
Our goal is to provide our patients with efficient dental care, and ensure they are fully informed regarding their oral health. Dental technology helps us accomplish this objective.
Digital X-Rays
Instead of traditional photographic x-ray film, digital x-rays use digital sensors to bring us highly detailed computer images of teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures and conditions. This allows your dentist to examine parts of your mouth that would not be visible to the naked eye.
Panoramic X-Rays
Using panoramic x-rays, your dentist can create a single flat image of your entire mouth. This image represents your teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and nasal and sinus structures. These types of x-rays are typically used to help plan treatments for braces, dentures, implants and extractions.
Dental Lasers
Lasers are extremely focused light beams that are used in a number of soft and hard tissue dental procedures. They allow our dentists to perform procedures with fewer medical interventions and less pain for the patient. At Dental One Bankers Hall, our dentists use lasers to eliminate decayed or overgrown tissue, to harden dental restorations quickly, whiten teeth or reshape the gums.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners can produce digital dental impressions, an ideal alternative to traditional dental impressions that can prove time-consuming and messy. Your dentist takes a digital image of your teeth within minutes using an optical scanning wand. This device allows your dentist to gather highly accurate data to produce digital replicas of the soft and hard tissues of your mouth.
Oral Cancer Screening Device
The VELscope® is an oral cancer screening device which helps your dentist to identify abnormalities and diseases in the mouth, such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualization technology, your dentist can complete the screening during routine exams under normal lighting conditions in about two minutes.
Cone Beam Cat Scan
This special type of x-ray machine creates 3D images of dental structures, nerve paths, soft tissues and bone in the craniofacial region in a single scan. Images obtained with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) allow us to plan treatments more precisely, including examining the airway for snoring and sleep apnea treatment.
CEREC Same-Day Restorations
CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a system used to fabricate and place ceramic dental crowns, inlays and onlays in a single appointment.
iTero 3D Scanner
The iTero® intraoral scanner captures highly accurate, 3D impressions of your bite. It helps us to plan your dental treatment in real time, store data digitally, and create Invisalign clear aligners.
Wand No Needle Freezing
Needle-free freezing is a convenient alternative to conventional freezing techniques using a dental needle. For patients who have a fear of needles or who are on their way back to the office after a dental appointment, the WAND - Needle-Free Freezing device provides a comfortable way of freezing teeth with less pain.
